Southbound lane of Third Street between Healey Street and Green Street to close for month-long sewer installation project

Champaign, IL – The southbound lane of Third Street between Healey Street and Green Street will close beginning May 26 as crews work to install a sanitary sewer main.

According to officials, Power Construction and Duce Construction will oversee the construction project, which is expected to continue through June 26, weather permitting.

During the closure, the northbound lane of Third Street will remain open to traffic.

Officials said the temporary closure is necessary to allow construction crews to safely complete the underground utility work in the area.
