Champaign police investigate shooting that left man injured during gathering on Bradley Avenue
Champaign, IL – The Champaign Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a 30-year-old man injured Saturday night on West Bradley Avenue.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of W. Bradley Avenue at approximately 8:49 p.m. on May 23, 2026, following reports of a shooting with injuries.
When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound resulting in what authorities described as a non-life-threatening injury. Officers and members of the Champaign Fire Department provided medical aid at the scene before the man was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Investigators said the initial investigation indicates the victim was attending a gathering in the area when gunfire erupted and he was struck.
Police remained on scene for several hours collecting evidence, reviewing potential surveillance footage, and speaking with possible witnesses. Authorities are encouraging residents and businesses in the surrounding area with exterior security cameras to contact investigators.
No arrests have been announced, and the investigation remains ongoing.
