Champaign Police Department recognized for supporting officers serving at home and abroad
Champaign, IL – The Champaign Police Department was recognized for its support of officers who serve both locally and abroad, following a nomination from one of its officers.
The department said it was proud to support its personnel who serve their communities while also recognizing those who may be serving away from home.
Officer Sanchez nominated the department for recognition, with the department expressing appreciation for his kind words and for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) for recognizing Champaign Police as an employer that cares about its personnel.
The recognition highlighted the department’s commitment to supporting its officers beyond their daily responsibilities within the community.
ESGR is a Department of Defense program that works to promote cooperation and understanding between service members and their civilian employers, particularly when employees have military obligations.
The Champaign Police Department thanked ESGR for the recognition and Officer Sanchez for submitting the nomination.
The department said it remained committed to taking care of its “heroes,” whether they were serving in Champaign or abroad.
