Champaign fire department to conduct training exercises this week

Champaign, IL – The City of Champaign Fire Department (CFD) announced that fire crews will be conducting training exercises this week at 410 W. Healey Street.

Training will take place daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

During the exercises, crews will focus on company-based skills and will use theatrical smoke to simulate real-life fire scenarios.

Officials said residents and passersby may see two or three fire apparatus and companies operating at any given time.

The CFD emphasized that these exercises are part of routine training to maintain readiness and ensure the safety of both firefighters and the community.
