Healey Street in Champaign closed through July 10 for sanitary sewer installation
Champaign, IL – A portion of Healey Street in Champaign is closed this week as crews install a new sanitary sewer lateral.
According to the City of Champaign, Northern Concrete & Excavating, Inc. closed Healey Street between Elm Street and Prairie Street beginning Monday, July 6, to complete work in the 400 block of Healey Street.
The closure is expected to remain in place until 3 p.m. on Friday, July 10, weather permitting.
City officials said the project is necessary to install a sanitary sewer lateral serving the area. While the roadway is closed to through traffic, access to all properties within the closure will be maintained throughout construction.
Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and use caution around the work zone while crews complete the installation.
The roadway is expected to reopen by the afternoon of July 10, provided weather conditions do not delay the project.
