Northbound lane on First Street to close for construction march 12

Champaign, IL – University Group will close a northbound lane of First Street between Springfield Avenue and Healey Street on Thursday, March 12, 2026, to facilitate construction at 101 E. Springfield Avenue.

The closure will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with one lane of northbound traffic and one lane of southbound traffic maintained throughout the work zone.

Officials advised drivers to exercise caution and follow posted signs while traveling through the area.
