One person is dead after shooting on near northwest side

Indianapolis, Indiana — Following a fatal shooting that occurred on the city’s near northwest side, police are investigating.

According to The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, they responded to a report of a person down at 18th and Montcalm streets early Tuesday morning.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a man who had been fatally shot.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

No suspect information has been made available. An investigation is ongoing.
