Columbia Avenue and Wright Street intersection closed for reconstruction, will reopen Sept. 10

Champaign, IL – Reconstruction of the intersection of Columbia Avenue and Wright Street began Wednesday, Aug. 27, with Cross Construction overseeing the project.
The intersection is closed to traffic during construction.
The project is scheduled to be completed on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, weather permitting.
Drivers are advised to use alternate routes and expect delays in the area while work continues.
