Champaign Fire Academy 003 begins with regional firefighter training partnership

Champaign, IL – The Champaign Fire Department announced the start of Fire Academy 003, which began on April 6, bringing together firefighters from multiple departments for joint training.

Officials said participants in the academy include firefighters from Charleston, Cornbelt, Urbana, and Champaign.

The department described the program as a collaborative effort focused on strengthening regional fire service training.

Fire officials also noted their appreciation for partnerships with Cornbelt and Urbana fire departments, which help support the delivery of the academy and expand training opportunities for local firefighters.
